McKee Environmental was hired by an insurance company to provide expert consultation and recommendations for remediation of smoke damage in a newly constructed unoccupied home.
A fire had started in a mud room and extinguished itself, but not before chemical-laden smoke had moved through the entire 10,000 ft2 home. An owner’s representative claimed all the hardwood flooring and all interior finishes within the home were ruined, but McKee Environmental used forensic techniques to confirm scientifically that some surfaces could be salvaged including most of the hardwood flooring.
